Angolavej is illuminated every year by amazing Christmas lights.
📍Angolavej, 2770 Kastrup
Danes certainly know how to celebrate Christmas, and that’s why there are Danish Christmas markets across the world. There’s even a Danish town in Los Angeles, California, complete with thatched rooves and people happily glugging gløgg. Denmark feels festive this time of year, and not just because of the climate. Every year the capital lights up with the most beautiful Christmas lights and one street really pushes the boat out.
The street has been celebrating Jul in this fashion since 2004. It all began when one neighbour decorated their house and the others began to decorate, outdoing each other as they went along. Now the display has reached a point where people drive by or stop off at the street just to visit the lights.
This year the street even featured on Go’ aften Live, and despite the current restrictions, you can still visit the lights. The street with be illuminated by these beautiful lights until December 31 and although the street is not accessible to traffic, you can park on another street and walk to see them. What a wonderful way to bring people happiness during such an unprecedentedly different yuletide, this year.
