Because what else are weekends for?
After a long, hard week at work, we like to make the most of the weekends, and for us, that means indulging in boozy brunches. Whether it’s fluffy waffles, crispy chicken, or creamy eggs Benedict, it all tastes even better washed down with a bloody Mary or two, or perhaps a mimosa. Boozy brunches are great for catching up with friends and family, and there are plenty of places in Copenhagen where the booze and good food flows freely at brunch time. Here are our stand-out favourites:
1. Gaarden & Gaden
Nørrebrogade 88, 2200
This charming wine bar in Nørrebro serves brunch from 10 am to 3.30 pm on weekends and you can order fantastic brunch-time classics like eggs benedict or croque-monsieur. Plus, if you’re a fan of oysters then you’re going to love this place because you can order three different varieties and wash it all down with a delicious bloody mary. To make a reservation, visit the website.
2. Mirabelle Bakery
Guldbergsgade 29, 2200
Everything at Mirabelle Bakery is homemade, and you can definitely taste the difference. There are a few brunch options, but the most indulgent is definitely the brunch plate, consisting of scrambled eggs, homemade pork sausages, bacon, salad, cheese, jam, and plenty of homemade bread. Cocktails aren’t available, but you can pair it with a tasty glass of wine, and the full menu is available to view on the website.
3. The Union Kitchen
Store Strandstraede 21, 1255 & Oster Farimagsgade 16A, 2100
This laid-back eatery is the perfect place for a lazy weekend brunch. From 7.30 am until 4 pm you can order basically anything that’s ever been eaten at brunch time, from breakfast burritos to croque madame, but their brunch plates offer a mixture of sweet and savory, with the likes of sausages and bacon sharing a plate with mini waffles and croissants. There are plenty of cocktails to choose from, from the tried and tested bloody mary, to the less conventional pinky, containing pink pepper whiskey, caramel, and lime. You can book a table via the website.
4. Taxa
Hørsholmsgade 32, 2200
From scrambled eggs to chia porridge, Taxa caters to all tastes, and the decor couldn’t be any cuter. Everything is painted in the softest pastel pinks and blues, and there’s a lovely little terrace for those sunny days when you just wanna brunch. There are tons of delicious cocktails to choose from and you can book a table via the website.
5. Sidecar

Sidecar is well-known for its cocktails and bao buns, but the brunches are all fantastic. You can choose from four different, tasty options, including indulgent American pancakes, and a veggie breakfast too. On offer booze-wise are those good old brunch classics, mimosas, and prosecco. You can read about the brunch options on the website.
6. D’ Angleterre – Marchal
Kongens Nytorv 34, 1050
Brunch at D’ Angleterre is about as luxurious as brunch gets. So if you’d like to try it then you need to book early, because you’ll be waiting until at least January 2022 for a weekend table.
