Ice skating was virtually none existent last year as the city’s ice rinks decided not to open due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but we have some good news this year as one of our favourites is almost ready to re-open!
Enghaveparken in Vesterbro is set to open once again after a year’s hiatus on December 1 and mark it in your calendars because this place is bound to be popular with ice-skating-starved Copenhageners.
The facilities at Enghaveparken are pretty new, having been renovated in 2019 when the rink re-opened, and you can also rent ice skates here if you don’t own any. Plus, there are usually a few stalls dotted around the outside of the rink, from which you can buy hot cocoa, coffee, ice cream (if you weren’t cold enough), and sometimes popcorn.
We can’t wait to get back on the ice and skate around the huge disco ball in the centre of the rink once again. The rink is usually open from 10 am – 8 pm, so we’re assuming it will be the same this year but if you’d like to keep up to date with the re-opening you can follow the Facebook page.
