Mad & Kaffe boasts three locations in Copenhagen already, with a fourth in Nørrebro on the way. Here you can enjoy fresh, clean flavours with a wide variety of dishes on the menu. 94kr buys you three food choices from the morning menu, which includes freshly baked croissants, melon and chilli salad and vanilla pannacotta. Breakfast is served from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm on weekdays, and is available until 1 pm on weekends.
2. Bankeraat

If you like something to look at whilst you gobble your breakfast down, Bankeraat is the place for you. The walls are adorned with some rather eccentric taxidermy, so if you don’t mind having a moose head watch you tuck into your sausages, you can grab yourself a tasty breakfast here. Bankeraat serves virtually everything, from pain au chocolat to a full English breakfast so there’s something for everybody. Breakfast is available between 9.30am and 12noon on weekdays and until 1pm on weekends.
3. Sankt Peders Bageri

Sankt Peders Bageri is the oldest bakery in all of Denmark. Founded in 1652, the bakery has over 350 years of baking experience under its belt. This makes for a very tasty breakfast indeed. Sankt Peders is known across Denmark for its delicious pastries, so if you don’t have time for a sit-down meal, you can always pick yourself up a Danish pastry on your way to work. The bakery opens at 7.30 am and closes at 4 pm so you can fetch your pastry fix in the morning and the afternoon!
4. The Union Kitchen

Delicious veggie breakfasts, spicy shakshuka and breakfast burritos – The Union Kitchen has it all. The sleek, bright design of the restaurant will wake you straight up, ready to enjoy the best part of any morning – breakfast. You can also buy bags of coffee, for a bit of luxury when you’re eating at home.
5. Frenchy

This French restaurant serves an amazing breakfast menu. Best of all is Frenchy’s brunch, which is a selection of some of the best breakfast items, such as crepes and cheese, plus an expertly baked macaron. At 139kr for this filling brunch, we can’t think of a better way to spend your morning.
6. Kalaset

Kalaset boasts the best pancakes in Copenhagen, according to their website and the thought alone is definitely enough to get your mouth watering. If pancakes aren’t your thing, they also offer a range of other breakfast options, both sweet and savoury that will satisfy your taste buds. The cafe opens at 10 am – perfect for a lazy weekend breakfast.
7. Grød
Grød offers delicious bowls of fruit, oats, yoghurt and other ingredients, for breakfast. These yummy bowls are both filling and nutritious – a great way to get a head start on eating your five a day. With 3 locations around the city, you are never too far from a Grød.

8. Sidecar
There are so many interesting and delicious dishes to choose from at Sidecar, from chicken and waffles to salmon ceviche. Amongst these options, the vegan breakfast is definitely a stand-out dish, with an amazing selection of elements, such as vegan pannacotta, pickled cauliflower and zucchini fritters.
