Fast-food meets fancy food at McDonald’s!
Yes, you did read the title correctly. From January 19 to April 12 you will be able to buy a burger at McDonald’s designed by the acclaimed chef, Paul Cunningham. The Englishman lives in Denmark and can usually be found cooking Michelin quality food at Henne Kirkeby Kro in Henne Kirkeby. However, this two Michelin-starred chef is now collaborating with the fast-food chain McDonald’s.
The flavour will be reminiscent of steak bearnaise, which smoked onion puree, crispy french fries, pickles, salad, steak, a bearnaise sauce and brioche bun. It aims to elevate the McDonald’s burger to something more gourmet and you can pick one up for DKK 60. This may seem a bit pricey but Paul usually charges around DKK 1,700 per head at Henne Kirkeby Kro, so it’s quite the price drop in comparison. It’s an interesting concept and we can’t wait to see how it tastes.
