It’s the peak of strawberry season.
July is a fantastic time to pick strawberries, and it’s such a fun thing to do in the Summertime. Kids love picking strawberries, and it’s a fantastic way to teach them about where their food comes from, so if you’re looking for a way to enjoy the weather this Summer, visit the wonderful Rokkedyssegaard.
Rokkedyssegaard is just north of the city, in Kirke Værløse, and right now their rows of strawberry plants are bursting with beautiful red berries, just waiting to be picked. You can pick as many berries as you’d like, and at 45 kr per kilogram, it works out fairly cheaply, even with the 25 kr entrance fee per adult.
It’s not only strawberries available at this charming farm. You can also pick raspberries, and even apples and pears. You can find the farm at Rokkedyssegaard, Lejrvej 45, 3500 Værløse and they’re open between 1 pm and 4 pm on weekdays. On weekends their opening hours are different: 10 am – 11.30 am, then 1 pm – 2.30 pm and again at 3 pm – 4.30 pm. However, you do need to book a spot in order to visit, and you can do this via the website.
