Kalvebod Bølge at Kalvebod Brygge is the perfect spot in which to enjoy the water in Copenhagen. It’s set up to accommodate a whole host of watersports and for the next two Wednesdays (December 15 & 22) there will be a fantastic, free event happening here.
Between the hours of 4 pm and 7 pm, Kulturhavn will be hosting a winter bathing event alongside Bølgebaderne, Havhøst, and Cykelkokken, who will be cooking up some tasty mussels.
Outdoor swimming was already popular in Copenhagen before the pandemic but now it seems like the world is embracing it, and if you’ve never tried it before then this is the perfect place to start. Bølgebaderne is an association of outdoor swimmers and they’ll be on hand to introduce newcomers to the pursuit.
Havhøst grow their own seaweed and mussels beneath the harbour and this garden will be illuminated by the artist Mads Vegas. Plus, after a dip in the sea you can warm up in the sauna. Everyone is invited but there is a limited capacity of people allowed to attend, so it’s a first come first served kind of deal.
